The hot dog is one of the most popular dishes around the world, captivating both children and adults. Preparing this classic and delicious dish at home is very easy and only takes about 20 minutes.
Ingredients Needed for Hot Dogs
- Sausages (you can choose cheese-filled sausages)
- Puff pastry (store-bought or homemade)
- Egg wash
- Canned tomato puree for tomato sauce
- Medium onion, finely chopped
- Green bell pepper, finely chopped
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions for Making Hot Dogs
- Preheat the oven to 220°C. Prepare a baking tray and parchment paper.
- Cut the puff pastry into small pieces, place the sausage in the puff pastry, and wrap the sausage with the pastry. Finally, brush with egg wash to help the pastry seal better.
- Place the hot dogs on the baking tray and bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes, until the pastry turns golden brown.
- While the hot dogs are baking, prepare the tomato sauce: Heat oil on the stove, add the chopped onion and sauté for a few minutes. Add the chopped bell pepper, canned tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Mix well and cook until desired consistency is reached.
- Once the hot dogs are done, let them cool for a few minutes.
- Pour the delicious tomato sauce over the hot dogs and serve hot!
