Gluten Containing Products
The main source of gluten is grains. including:
- wheat
- rye
- barley;
- couscous;
- mannan cereal.
Often products containing gluten are artificially elasticized to give them shape. It is included in ketchups, sauces, chips, candies, ice cream, soy sauce, french fries, vitamins (in the form of capsules and tablets) and even meat products.
Types of gluten-free cereals are:
- corn;
- millet
- rice
- oats.
The law obliges manufacturers to indicate on the label all allergens that are included in the product. Even if they are not, but due to the production technology, they may accidentally get into the product. On the packaging of any product you will read the inscription: - "May contain traces of gluten".
In order to remove gluten-containing products from the diet, carefully read the composition of the products on the label. Often this is a symbol of a crossed out wheat head, or the inscription: "Gluten free".
